I wish Mastodon had a way to annotate users.

Like, I would love to tag people with 'not interested in roleplay" or "Not interested in my gender" as I am REALLY bad at remembering things like that, and am constantly checking people's profiles for their names/orientations and not everyone has those there

@pi tbh i think this should be done by separate software that the clients simply integrate with

@pi one of the best things about SecondLife is that you get a personal 'notes' tab for every person and that helps me pretend I can remember who they are because my memory has no actual capability of doing that :blobcatinnocent:

@pi
You have a task list option where you can write that. It is a way of using it. :blobcatcoffee:

@Jayrive What is the task list? Where is it? How do I use it?

@pi
Now that i think there is and option in fedilab that is called "lists" but I think that come from mastodon itself. It shoull on the menu of mastodon

@Jayrive Ah, not what I need. That shows all the toots from those people.

What I want is a way to mark a person's toots with something like "Likes to roleplay" or "They/them" so it shows up alongside the toot. Not so I have to stop writing a toot halfway through and check.

As that involves abandoning my toot if I'm using Subway Tooter.

@pi Would use

Also would be great for "Why did you block/mute this person?" just for my own reference

@pi yes!!

I also wish I could annotate my own actions towards other accounts: "followed because...", "turned off boosts because...", "blocked because...", and so on. The secondary benefit there would be that the action objects could be timestamped, ideally so that they could be displayed back to me in a log format of some kind.

@pi

I wonder if this is a thing that a client app could wrangle.

@daddyslilpenguin It is, but it wouldn't sync between my devices then :(
